IAM Transportation Excellence in Safety Award
The IAM Transportation Excellence in Safety Award is to recognize those individual(s) in Ground and Flight Safety within the airline industry that have performed an extra-exemplary act of safety or have made a significant long term contribution to the safety and health of IAM members of DL 140, 141, or 142.
This award will be presented when merit warrants and nominations may be submitted by IAM members in good standing from DL 140, 141, or 142. Nominations should be submitted on the appropriate nomination form to the IAM Joint Air Transport Safety Committee (JATSC). Because the award is based on merit, more than one person may receive the award at one time and there is no specific time frame between awards.
The IAM JATSC will review all nominations and will recommend for approval to GVP Pantoja and GVP Ritchie. The evaluation will be based on current/past safety and health accomplishments and the applicant’s safety and labor background.
Presentation of the award will be based on appropriate opportunities as decided by the JATSC.
This criterion was developed by the JATSC and approved by GVP Roach and GVP Ritchie. June 2010
This criterion was revised to reflect current District Lodges and GVPs. August 2012
